THINK BIG, DREAM BIG

Recently I have become captivated with a CNBC television talk show called “The Big Idea” with Donny Deustch. The show host interviews the most powerful people in business, entertainment, and politics and he celebrates their success stories. They are ordinary people who made their wildest dreams come true. They share their stories of how they overcame all obstacles and pursued the impossible because they DREAMED BIG. They had a BIG vision and BIG dream. They are ordinary people attempting extraordinary things.

As Christians we can learn and glean from shows like these.  We too, are ordinary people; however, we can do extraordinary things because God is with us and for us. God calls us to THINK BIG. The word says, 20Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, 21to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Ephesians 3:20-21 (NASB). God is inviting ordinary people like you and me to dream impossible things because He is able to fulfill the desires of our heart.  “For nothing will be impossible with God.” Luke 1:37 (NASB). God is Able!

God calls us to DREAM BIG. I am a overly cautious person. I find it difficult to daydream and in vision the future and therefore, I handicap myself. Instead of praying and seeking the possibilities, I am guilty of limiting and restricting God. I don’t step out and DREAM BIG.  God is inviting each of us to dream the impossible and take a chance on Him. He wants the opportunity to prove to you and the world that He is worthy of all praise and glory. 13Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.” John 14:13-14 (NASB). God is Able!

We are selling ourselves short. When it comes to our lives, marriage, children, and careers or ministry, God is able to do great things. He will birth His dreams in you. The process is simple. Take time to write down your hopes, dreams and desires. Read them regularly. Make a dream board and paste a picture of yourself in the center. Then surround your photo with pictures of trips you would like to take, hobbies you want to do, languages you want to learn, people you want to inspire, careers you want to attempt. Are you seeing it? Pray over your dreams and look for God’s intervention and guidance in your life. God THINKS BIG and He has a BIG DREAM for you. 12“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father”. John 14:12. He is more than ABLE.
