Volunteers

Contact us d

Thank you for wanting to make a difference.  Volunteers of The Salvation Army are a vital part in making a difference in people's lives.

Volunteering with The Salvation Army provides many opportunities as we work together in a spirit that fosters change in ourselves and in the communities where we live and work. Your investment as a volunteer will be time well spent and, we hope, provide rewards that far exceed your expectations.

Opportunities for volunteering are as diverse as the programs we provide. We have opportunities at four sites in the San Antonio area. We work with children, adults, and seniors who all come from a variety of backgrounds. We encourage you to contact us so that we can explore opportunities with you and find something that fits best.

Below are a few opportunities that critically need volunteers today:

• Teach computer skills
• Food Pantry - food bags for the hungry
• Sports coaching at Boys & Girls Club
• Serving Food to the Homeless
• Homework Helpers (School year)
• Property and Maintenance – Lawn, Yard, and Buildings
• Office and Clerical
• Disaster Services (as needed)
• Seasonal Opportunities

Since The Salvation Army believes that volunteers are one of its most important assets, we are committed to providing you with the best volunteer experience possible. To begin this experience, please print and complete our application.

Contact me, Cathy Tompkins, Volunteer Coordinator at (210) 352-2000 or vía e-mail to learn about your volunteer to discuss service opportunities.

Again, thank you so much for your interest in becoming an active member of our volunteer community. The Salvation Army depends daily on people such as you to help us extend a helping and encouraging hand to those in need and in crisis.

"Imagine what a harmonious world
it would be
if every
single person,
both young and old, shared a little
of what he is good
at doing."
