Programs

Stepping Forward is a case managed program for homeless, single mothers. Residents may reside in the program for up to two years. We provide a safe and secure place to live, giving these women the opportunity to get “back on their feet” and to transition to permanent housing and employment. We provide childcare, transportation costs, counseling, family preservation services, parenting classes, life skills classes and resources to obtain an education and/or employment.

Shining Star is a case managed program for chronically homeless single women who most often have a history of substance abuse, mental illness and/or intellectual handicapped. We provide a safe and secure place to live, giving these women the opportunity to get “back on their feet” and to transition to permanent housing and employment. Counseling, life skills, transportation and other supportive services are provided.

New Start is a program specifically for young girls, 18 to 21 years of age who were previously in state custody prior to turning 18. They often have no place to go and end up on the streets or in shelters. Living at New Start provides a safe, supportive environment for the women while they continue their education or vocational training. Counseling, life skills, transportation and other supportive services are provided.

Note: All residential programs offer transportation and child care at no cost.
