These initiatives help young people enhance
self-expression and creativity, develop multicultural appreciation,
provide exposure to and develop skills in crafts and visual, performing
and literary arts.
Activities include: Dance, Choir, Invisible Art, Self-Portrait,
Pencil, Ink, Water Color, Skits by age groups in subjects like
Outer Space, The Ocean, Trees, Your family, Animals; Origami,
Paper Airplanes, Story Telling, Talent Shows, Poetry, Guest Artists,
Cartoons, Draw Pictures for Soldiers, Piñatas, Trips to
Museums, Puppets.
Performing Arts
This program is designed to help members experience and explore
the fullness of the arts such as drama, dance, music, theory,
interpretation and performance.
National Fine Arts Exhibit
This contest, which encourages creativity through a variety of
media, is made up of local, regional and national exhibits. Young
people are encouraged to create artwork in any of the following
categories: multicolored drawing, pastels, water color, oil or
acrylic, print making, mixed media, collage and sculpture. Artwork
selected through a national competition is displayed at BGCA's
annual National Conference.
