Celebrating 120 years of Hope and Service in the San Antonio Community
In 1889, the Eiffel Tower opens in Paris, Benjamin Harris becomes the 23rd president of the United States, the Wall Street Journal is established and in San Antonio history was also being made as two young female officers started The Salvation Army.
To mark this milestone, The Salvation Army, San Antonio Area Command will have numerous events throughout the year. Mark your calendars for our first two events, May will showcase a seven foot red kettle and in July, Olympic swimming champion Josh Davis will speak at our annual banquet. Please keep checking our website for new updates on this exciting year!
2009 Annual Banquet
On July 22nd we will commemorate 120 years of service during The Salvation Army’s Annual Banquet at the Oak Hills Country Club. Attendees will enjoy the sweet harmonies of the Children’s Chorus of San Antonio as well as the sage words from Olympic medalist, Josh Davis.
We invite you to join us during this very special evening by being one of our table sponsors. Please call (210) 352-2000 for more information.
During these last 120 years of service to our community, The Salvation Army has served countless meals, sheltered numerous individuals and families and have carried on the mission of helping others in need without discrimination. While we celebrate this year all our past accomplishments with numerous events and activities, we also look forward to the next century of hope.
Special Thanks to Andrew Anguiano with Drew/Walker for designing our 120 Year Anniversary logo.
