31st Annual Shoe In a Success!

On Saturday, Sept. 22nd, the 31st Annual Shoe In for Kids provided brand new shoes for nearly 3000 children in need. With over 200 volunteers, The Salvation Army provided shoes to children in need from elementary schools across Bexar County.

The Salvation Army provides food to families in need. The Food Distribution program provides individuals and families that are below 200% of the poverty level. Along with staple items like bread and canned food, they will also get fresh vegetables and other good, each household will receive a variety of groceries to sustain a family of four with 3 meals a day for 3 days.

San Antonio, TX (June 25, 2012) As the weather heats up in the Alamo City, The Salvation Army stands ready to help those in need of a cold drink of water and a place to cool off.
To better serve the community during these days of high temperatures, we have implemented the warm weather policy at our shelters and facilities.
Our lobbies are open to the public during the day to provide relief from the heat. Cold water is provided for every one during the day.
People from the community seeking relief from the heat and/or would like bottled water to drink are welcome to come to the following Salvation Army locations:
