Background

 

1. The computers were donated by The Beaumont Foundation of America to help bring technology to the community.

2. There are three computer labs operated out of the San Antonio area; the Hope Center, South Side CDC, and Peacock Village (which is being combined with the Hope Center).

3. Each lab is equipped with the following:
   a. 10 laptop computers
   b. 10 monitors
   c. 10 keyboards and mice
   d. Server
   e. 2 printers (1 inkjet and 1 laser)
   f. Digital camera
   g. Internet access

4. Each laptop has the following applications on them
   a. Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher
   b. Aztec Learning System - provides general education learning (GED)
      (1) Only at the Hope Center and Peacock Village
   c. Microsoft Internet Explorer
   d. Netsmartz - teaches children about Internet Safety
