Welcome
"Bienvenidos" & Welcome to the Salvation Army Dave
Coy Men's Homeless Shelter Center Website. The center is a 183
bed facility that operates a diversified social services program
for "Homeless" men. The Center provides a safe and clean
place to sleep, emergency shelter, transitional housing, Case
Management, employment, housing placements, and "meals"
for the homeless community. In 2006, the center's kitchen served
well over 199,413 meals to the homeless population of our community.
Our transitional program known as "the Workers Program"
provides 50 beds for homeless men who have a verifiable job; here
they are able to have an assigned bed with a locker in an open
dorm setting. A program service fee of $ 60.00 per week is set
for this program. Nightly programming such as Life skills classes
and a 12 step program known as a "Moses group" are mandatory
attendance for this program. Our overnight transient program for
homeless men provides 5 free nights of lodging, after which a
program service fee of $ 10 dollars per night is required; Case
Management is available upon request, a picture identification
and or social security card is required for this program.
Through the City of San Antonio there are two funded programs:
The Comprehensive Nutrition Program for Senior's; open to Men
and Women seniors (lunch only), participants must be registered
through assigned Case Manager and the Safe Sleep Zone, a 40 bed
program providing a safe sleeping environment for chronic homeless
men.
Additional information is available upon request by either coming
by the Dave Coy Center located at 226 Nolan Street or calling
the center number at (210) 226-2291.
Thank you for your support of the Salvation Army and visiting
our website.
May God Bless You
